Creating embeds nowadays is a major hassle. Having to format messages, rely on premade formats made from other bots, and taking the time to find a dedicated way to interact with your community while making everything look as unique and clean as possible. How can you make a bot embed exactly how you'd like it without prior coding knowledge? Well, as you can see where this is going, the Embedinator bot is not only reliant on creative freedoms, but also open to flexibility. The Embedinator bot is a simple way to create those nice, sleek embeds that you've always been desiring.
Well, what if I don't even need embeds made? Well, it's a super cool tool to keep a note of, and if you're ever running a project where you have a community over Discord, there would always be a need to run custom embeds for announcements, information tabs, rule messages, and so much more.
Without further ado, getting started into the grit of everything; well, how do I use this bot? It's a really simple process that this video will cover. By the end of this, you'll be a professional in making your own custom Discord bot embeds with this tool.
Inviting the Bot:
You'd first want to invite this bot to your Discord server. By using the link in this video's description, it'll open a browser window where you can sign in with Discord and then confirm the addition of the bot to your server. Make sure that it has the proper permission levels that it asks!
Bot Commands:
Now, what do you do after inviting Embedinator? There are several commands to keep note of. You can run e!help to get the list of commands and how to use them. Running e!support will prompt the invite link to the support Discord where you can join to ask questions or to make any suggestions for new features or additions. The e!stats command will just send a message displaying all of the bot's statistics. If you want to change the prefix or have a conflicting bot with the same prefix, running e!setprefix <prefix> will set the bot's prefix to a different one. The commands e!ping, e!serverinfo, e!userinfo <user>, and e!avatar <user> are more statistical commands that can be used to get more information. These commands are fairly self-explanatory.
Choosing Embed Colors:
Prior to getting into the step of using the embed builder, run the command e!colors. This'll prompt a list of all of the different embed colors that you can use while building an embed. Make sure to type these colors in correctly (or copy and paste) when using the input for the color of the embed. Note that you can only use one color for an embed.
Starting the Embed Builder:
You can start the embed building process by typing the command e!embed. Make sure to follow each instruction clearly when proceeding with creating an embed. Also, be sure to not wait too long or else the process would time out. For any of these steps, if you don't have a value for the given step, feel free to type "N/A" and it'll skip this step. We recommend running this command at least once to get a feel of which steps correlate to which parts of the embed.
Step-by-Step Embed Creation:
The first step would prompt you for a title. Simply, type a title for your embed. The second step will prompt you for an embed description. Feel free to do the same as the first step. You can use spaces in your messages as well as Discord text formatting and all of these things would apply to the string input of the embed. The third step is the title URL. Similar to the other steps, putting in a value would work for this. However, do note that you must put in a valid link for this step to work. So, the link must start with "https://". The fourth step here is the color. As said before, type in your chosen color from the e!colors panel for this to work. If you don't have a color preference, you can type in "DEFAULT". Make sure that any input for the color step is in all caps. The next steps (5-6) are the image and thumbnail URLs. Type in a valid URL (this image should display a URL), and it'll move on to the next step in the process. For step 7, in the exact same fashion as the first two steps, enter a normal text input for whatever footer text that you'd want. Step 8 would prompt another image URL. Simply, follow the steps that you did for steps 5 and 6 for this. Step 9 asks you to type either true or false. Based on what you pick, this'll enable or disable the timestamps on the embed from showing in the footer. The 10th and final step prompts you to choose a channel. This'll send the embed into whatever channel you'd want it to send to. Type "#" and then you should see a list of different channels that you can mention. Type in more characters or scroll on this list to specify exactly the channel that you'd like to send this in.
Finalizing Your Embed:
After the final step, it'll prompt you with a message link to your created embed! Here, you can view your newly created embed in your chosen channel.
With your created embed, you have successfully finished the embed building process! Welcome aboard to becoming a self-sustaining Discord embed designer. We hope that you enjoyed spending some time learning this new skill and wish you the best of luck exploring the possibilities and using this tool for your next project!
